icole started her legal career at Jehl Law Group as a legal assistant before attending law school. She has since built on that foundation and acquired a versatile background in both civil and criminal law.

Nicole began her career as an attorney with the Committee for Public Counsel Services Innocence Program in Boston, where she evaluated and investigated post-conviction cases for potential claims of innocence. She also helped create, write, and produce a podcast, Mass Exoneration, which tells the stories of individuals who were exonerated after spending decades in prison for crimes they did not commit.

Nicole then moved into criminal trial practice as a Deputy State Public Defender in Grand Junction, Colorado. She honed her trial skills and found her footing in the courtroom, tirelessly advocating on behalf of adult and juvenile defendants facing misdemeanor and felony charges. Nicole continued her criminal defense practice in Georgia, opening her own solo practice representing both private and court-appointed clients, before returning to post-conviction work as an appellate attorney with the Georgia Public Defender Council. While in Georgia, Nicole also shifted gears back into civil litigation as an associate at King, Yaklin & Wilkins, LLP in Marietta.

Throughout her career, Nicole has aimed to give voice to those often overlooked and discounted. She has built a reputation for thorough legal analysis, attention to detail, and a passion for justice. With a broad legal skill set and a commitment to serving her community, Nicole is a trusted advocate for her clients.

Nicole first moved to Memphis to attend Rhodes College. She graduated magna cum laude in 2011 with a Bachelor of Arts in Music. Nicole then earned her J.D. from Boston University in 2017. At BU, she was a managing editor of the Public Interest Law Journal and a mentor and fundraising co-chair with the Public Interest Project. Nicole is licensed in Georgia and Colorado. She is a member of the State Bar of Georgia and its Young Lawyers Division.
