Angela Polk graduated from The University of Tennessee at Martin, cum laude, with a B.I.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies. She received her Juris Doctorate degree from the Cecil C. Humphries School of Law at the University of Memphis in 2019, where she received the Dean’s Award for Excellence – Best Brief and the CALI Award for Excellence in Criminal Law. While in law school, Ms. Polk dedicated her time outside of her studies to serving her classmates as a Student Ambassador and President of Memphis Law +1. She also served her community through numerous pro bono opportunities earning the Dean’s Distinguished Pro Bono Award, the Dean’s Distinguished Service Award, and was named a 2019 Law Student for Justice by the Tennessee Supreme Court.

During law school, Ms. Polk interned for Honorable Robert L. Childers, Judge of the Circuit Court of Shelby County, and served as an extern with the Shelby County Public Defender’s Office where she gained invaluable civil and criminal experience. Prior to law school, Ms. Polk worked tirelessly for the Memphis community as a paralegal for more than 10 years for several firms assisting with cases involving medical malpractice, nursing home negligence, catastrophic personal injury, and civil rights litigation.

Ms. Polk is licensed to practice law in Tennessee. She is a member of the Memphis Bar Association, Tennessee Trial Lawyers Association, and the Association for Women Attorneys.
